The Photo above is a very early photo of the Township of Linda. This was once a thriving town. The railway line seen in forground of the Photo was part of the Old Crotty Rail Line that went all the way to Macquarie Harbour, to Pillenger via what is now the "Bird River Track". |
This Photo above, shows the Old Airial Ropeway, that would have been used to transport Ore to the Rail Head at Linda Township. Very little now remains of the Township of Linda. Only a few houses and the shell of the "Royal Hotel". |
The Photo above is a view of The Mountain side Township of Gormanston. This town once boasted Many Hotels & Business's, and was for a while, the main town for the workers at Mt Lyell. This Township is only a few Kms from the Township of Linda. |
